Review: Cafe Destino sits just down the street from corporate coffee personified, Starbucks. Although who has better coffee is open to debate, this corner cafe is a popular local hangout. You can order eggs, sandwiches or paninis to go with your coffee and there’s a good selection of pastries as well.

As far as food goes, I can heartily endorse the vegetarian sandwhich, with all the traditional veggies plus pepperoncinis, and the veggie paninis. However, this is primarily an informal cafe best visited for your morning coffee or to grab a quick lunch – it’s not anywhere you’d plan a sit down meal.

Stop by after 1 p.m. and all pastries are only a buck. Yum!

For a hidden-menu item, ask for the “Sean Special” consisting of a multigrain bagel, 2 soy sausage patties and tomato. Depending on who’s serving, you might have to tell them the ingredients and the price varies between $3.50 and $4.00. But hey, it’s fully-custom!
