Criminal record for Kerrigan attack stands
How fantastic…maybe I can commit a really good crime and then pretend I’m a better person so it can get erased. Props to the judge for seeing through this.
PORTLAND, Oregon (AP) — A judge refused to clear the record of the man who whacked Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan on the knee in 1994, likely ending his hopes to become a Navy SEAL.
Multnomah County Circuit Judge Julie Frantz told Shane Stant at a Thursday hearing that the law does not allow an assault conviction to be expunged.
Kerrigan had opposed the request, saying in a letter that to grant it “would send a message to others that such a crime can ultimately be swept under the rug.”
