Info: In Portland, you can shop at a farmers market almost any day of the week during the summer – if you can afford to go in the morning. Only one of three evening markets (the others are held on Thursdays), the Interstate Farmers Market lets organic foodies get their fix mid-week. A new addition to the market scene for 2005, Kaiser Permanente hosts the event. The big wig sponsorship reflects how much this area has changed and improved within the past ten years and is an encouraging sign for those who think the area could still use a bit more polish.
The market itself is small – less than two dozen stalls. However, if you’re nearby and looking for some fresh fruit and veggies, it will do nicely.
